Prepping Fantasy Vs. Reality

In this new episode Dave, Chris, and I talk about the fantasy that runs through a lot of preppers minds. First though we answer and talk about our usual questions. I talk briefly about Vin Armani’s new book Render Unto Caesar: Prophecy, Profit, and Proof of Work In The Dim Age. Our anonymous listener or troll question of the week was “What if you were stranded in the woods and you could not find dry tinder to make a fire, but you had petroleum gauze, would you use it to start a fire, or save it for medical emergencies? ” This one was a thinker. Please remember you can submit your own random question about anything, and use a fake email if you want to stay anonymous.

The main topic of this week’s episode is all about the fantasy that some preppers/survivalist play through their mind of what they think end the world as they know it. Fantasies can be anything from global marshal law to straight up Mad Max, but we try to ground it back into reality. Reality is that job loss, family medical emergencies, and power outages happen every day and in many ways are more of a disaster for most people and more common. Next we talk about the fantasy that preppers need fancy gadgets, but we go through the essentials of survival and most can be done on very little money.
